In the Film, Rocky’s mother, who is tired of poverty, promises his son that he will not die out of poverty and become a powerful man. Dogged by his mother’s words, Rocky becomes a cold-hearted criminal who can do anything to fulfill her wish.
He is shown as a lone operator who later joins a criminal gang in Mumbai and continues with his further ambitions. His enemies continue to lobby against him and conspire for his downfall. The governments see him as a threat to law and order, but his allies look up to him as a Saviour. However, later on, in the movie, his mother dies, and the darker days and bloodier battles lie ahead of Rocky as he continues with his mission towards unchallenged supremacy.
Is It Based On A True Story?
The film’s story outlines Rocky’s character, a young orphan growing up in Mumbai, and later becomes a gangster in Mumbai and takes over the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka. According to its viewers, Rocky’s character is based on the real story of Rowdy Thangam, who was shot dead in a police encounter in the year 1997.
Also, Pauli, Thangam’s mother, filed a petition on a stay on the KGF Chapter 2 because she feels that his son was depicted in a negative role in the first film. Later the Court issued summons to the filmmakers as Pauli reported that the makers of the film promised her that they would depict his son in a positive role.
The director of the film, Prashanth Neel, denied the fact that it is based on Thangam’s story. Though the poster of KGF claims that it is based on a true story, but as the director says, it is not based on the story of Thangam, then the question is then on whom. It has some similarities with Thangam’s life, but otherwise, it is on a fictional account.
The film was slated to release in October 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Dutt’s health issue, the release was delayed. But the best part is the film is expected to be in theaters in January 2020. If this outbreak would not have taken place, the film was to release worldwide, and the Yash fans would celebrate never before.
